Amsterdam 2021

The 12-storey house or Skyscraper built in 1932 has 12 floors and is 40 meters high and was the first of its kind in Amsterdam.

It is a symmetrical building with an elevator and staircase in the middle and apartments on both sides.

It has 24 large residential apartments with the luxury of: lift, central heating, electric bell, bathtub,

garbage chute and two retail premises on the ground floor.

The building was designed by Jan Staal (1879-1940) as an example of the Nieuwe Bouwen movement,

a movement that opposed the decorations in the construction of the Amsterdam School.

The skyscraper is part of the south plan by architect H.P.Berlage (1856-1934).
